This is an ornamental, evergreen herb, which grows from rhizome with its showy arrow-shaped, thin-leathery leaves. This plant produces tubers and loses most of its leaves when it goes dormant. Plant does good in a mixture containing a large percentage of peat moss while still allowing water to drain well.
