"Water lily" (Nymphaea tetragona) is a classic perennial aquatic plant, native to temperate to tropical still waters. Its round leaves spread flat on the water surface, and in summer, it produces delicate star-shaped flowers, with colors varying by variety (common colors include white, pink, yellow). When cultivating, maintain a stable water depth of 30-60cm and regularly supplement with aquatic plant-specific fertilizer tablets. In cold regions during winter, it needs to be moved indoors or to deep water for overwintering. It is suitable for garden ponds or large containers and is a key plant for creating waterscapes.
Purchase Note: Dormant plants are shipped as bare-root seedlings
Small, slightly fragrant, cup-shaped Water lilies up to 5cm ( 2in ) across with slightly scalloped petals float atop round, mid green leaves from June to September. These award-winning pygmy waterlilies will happily grow in as little as 15cm ( 6in ) of water, and they are perfect candidates for a small pond or tub in a sheltered, sunny site. The shade cast by the leaves also helps to check the spread of the algae.
