Red-Tailed Black Shark(Epalzeorhynchos bicolor)
HK$18
The red-tailed black shark is also called the fire-tailed fish because the fish is completely black except for its tail fin, which is as red as a burning fire. The body fins of red-tailed black sharks are black when they are young. When they grow to about 8cm, their tail fins turn to golden yellow. When they reach 10cm (that is, when they reach sexual maturity), their tail fins turn bright red. Changes in water temperature also affect the color of the tail fin. When the water temperature is too low, the color of the tail fin will fade to orange or even pure black.
Adult size: 10 cm
Temperature: 18 - 24°C
Food: fish feed, algae
