Pelargonium hortorum Bailey

A herbaceous plant of the genus Geranium in the family Geranium, its stem is upright, with a lignified base and a fishy smell; the leaves are alternate and divided into stipules with wide triangles or ovals and leaves with round or kidney-shaped bases and heart-shaped leaves; the pedicels are covered with leaves Pubescent and glandular hairs, sepals narrow-lanceolate, petals red, orange-red, pink or white, broadly obovate; fruit pubescent. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from June to September. Tianzhu is the ancient Chinese name for India. "Geranium" may have been named because it was known to come from a warm country at that time. It means "Indian sunflower", and the popular name became "Pelargonium".

The leaves of geranium are relatively fragile. They will replace new leaves every time they encounter a new environment. It is normal for the leaves to wither. New shoots will grow and start to change leaves within 2-3 days.
