Zacco platypus

Native to China, Korea, and Japan, the body color is very bright, and the male fish is more obvious than the female fish. Generally, the back is gray-black with green, and the abdomen is silvery white. There are 10-15 vertical black broad stripes on the sides of the body. There are many light red spots between the stripes, and there is a metallic luster on the scales on the side of the body. The dorsal fin is gray; the pectoral fin is gray-white with many black spots; the pelvic fin is light red or white. Anal fin pink or red with green sheen. Caudal fin gray with black trailing edge.

The color is dull when young and gradually develops color over time. This is also the charm of native fish.
