The Opuntia microdasys, a perennial succulent plant belonging to the Cactaceae family, is native to tropical South America. The stems of the Opuntia microdasys are irregularly round, sometimes resembling Mickey Mouse ears. Its flowers are yellow or red. When the fruit ripens, it turns red, and the pulp is bright red or pink.
It is cold-hardy and can withstand outdoor snow in winter. It prefers strong sunlight and is tolerant of heat, drought, and barren soil. It has strong vitality, is easy to manage, and is very suitable for cultivation on home balconies. The optimal growth temperature for Opuntia microdasys is 10-30℃. In spring and autumn, watering should adhere to the principle of "water only when dry, and do not overwater."
Note: As cacti grow, lignification and wound healing may occur, which does not affect plant growth. During transport, plant shaking may cause leaf abrasion, which is normal.
