Weaver ants use silk spun by their larvae to roll up fresh leaves and build "ant nests" for habitation. Large colonies of weaver ants generally have multiple satellite nests. In the wild, they prefer to inhabit warm climate zones, living an arboreal life and building nests in trees with dense branches and leaves. They can also weave interesting nests in artificial breeding environments.
