Nepenthes maxima is distributed as "a tropical carnivorous plant widely found in Sulawesi, New Guinea, and the Maluku Islands."
Although this species is a mid-to-highland plant, it exhibits good heat and cold tolerance. Nepenthes maxima grows terrestrially in highland moss forests, secondary forests, ridge tops, cliffs, and slopes, but it prefers strong light and possesses excellent temperature and heat resistance!
