The Fireback Snakehead can grow to about 20-30 cm, making it a medium-small snakehead species.

It generally takes at least one and a half years for a Fireback Snakehead to start developing its color from a young age, and about another year to fully develop its color.

Originating from the Assam region of India, the Fireback Snakehead lives in the bottom layer of water bodies. Its diet should primarily consist of small shrimp, bloodworms, mealworms, small fish, and artificial feed.
