His father, Yozan, was a potter and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products are mainly small and medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm, with round pots primarily made on a potter's wheel, and other bonsai pots made using molds. The molded pots are thickly molded and then re-carved by hand. He creates a wide variety of pieces, including those with carved feet, painted designs, and clay-colored pots, with some being close to one-off productions and others being mass-produced.
