His father, Yozan, was a bonsai potter and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. Products are mainly small and medium-sized glazed items up to about 50 cm. Round pots are generally made on a potter's wheel, and other bonsai pots are made using molds. Molds are made thick and then re-carved by hand. He produces a wide variety of items, including pots with cat's feet, painted designs, and earthy colors, with some items being close to one-of-a-kind creations and others being mass-produced.
