Bonsai Pot Tokoname Ikko Watanabe Kazuhiro Medium, length approx. 26.5cm, rectangular pot with rim, tiered feet, glazed, used pot in current condition. Real name: Kazuhiro Watanabe. While training under his father, Shōzan Watanabe, he researched glazes and began firing small bonsai pots around 1978. He primarily creates glazed bonsai pots and water basins using the tatara method. His glazes are mainly Oribe, Kin-yu, Shiro-kōchi, Ki-kōchi, Ruri-yu, and also include a wide variety of intermediate colors. He is a Tokoname bonsai container artist who makes pots and water basins in mud colors, for small and large bonsai. The artist's name is read "Kazuhiro," but it is generally read in the Japanese kun-yomi style as "Ikko."
