Bonsai pot, Gekko, small, approx. 16cm long, wooden pot, sometsuke, phoenix, with shared box and cloth. For ornamental use. Brand new, current item. Real name: Ito Yasutoshi. Fourth generation of the Tankyo-gama kiln. Started making sometsuke pots around 1969. Has received numerous awards at prestigious exhibitions, such as the Best Artist Award, Juseki-sha Award, and Kindai Publishing Award, for his elegant brushwork in sometsuke, aka-e, and iro-e. His painting style is heavily influenced by Yusen, evolving from an early detailed style to a more simplified brushstroke with thicker lines, and changes in color usage.
