Real name: Watanabe Kazuhiro. Trained under his father, Watanabe Shōzan, while researching glazes. Began firing miniature bonsai pots around 1978. Primarily uses slab-building techniques for his glazed bonsai pots and glazed suiban. His main glazes include Oribe, Jun-yu, Shiro-kouchi, Ki-kouchi, and Ruri-yu, with a wide variety of intermediate colors. A Tokoname bonsai pot artist who creates both pots and suiban in various sizes (small to large) and earth tones. His artist name is read as "Kazuhiro" but is commonly read as "Ikkō."
