Real name: Kazuhiro Watanabe. While training under his father, Shōzan Watanabe, he researched glazes and began firing small bonsai pots around 1978. He mainly creates glazed bonsai pots and glazed suiban (water basins) using the slab-building technique. His glazes are diverse, primarily Oribe, Junyu (celadon), white Kōchi, yellow Kōchi, and Ruri (lapis lazuli) glazes, with various intermediate colors also available. He is a Tokoname bonsai container artist who produces pots and suiban in various sizes, from small to large, in unglazed (clay) finishes. The artist's name is read as "Kazuhiro," but it is commonly read with the kun-yomi (Japanese reading) as "Ikkō."
