The Spotted Clown Killifish is very similar to the Clown Killifish, but differs in the black spot on the anterior side of its body, which appears to be encircled by a red ring, extending directly to the tail. The gill cover has a blood-red coloration, and it also prefers soft, slightly acidic water.
