His father, Yozan, was a skilled potter and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. Products primarily consist of small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm. Round pots are generally wheel-thrown, while other bonsai containers are made using molds. Molded items are cast thickly and then re-carved by hand. His work is diverse, including pieces with claw feet, painted designs, and unglazed "mud-colored" pots, ranging from unique, almost one-off creations to mass-produced items.
