His father, Yozan, was a bonsai pot craftsman and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products are mainly small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm. Round pots are basically made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai pots are made with molds. He makes the molds thick and then re-carves them himself. He produces a wide variety of items, including cat-leg pots, painted pots, and mud-colored pots, with some being close to one-of-a-kind creations and others being mass-produced.
