Bonsai Pot: Bikou, Small size, approximately 13cm long, oval pot, glazed, as-is, used pot. Mikou Horie was born in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture in 1939. He began making pottery seriously in 1963, and the following year he met Koreyoshi Nakamura, who encouraged him to make a living by creating pots. In 1970, he visited Heian Koou in Kyoto and his skill was recognized. His clay, a mixture of Shigaraki and Mino clay, is highly regarded for cultivation, and he excels in all forms of pottery, including slab-building, wheel-throwing, and hand-molding. He primarily produces unglazed pottery and traditional glazes.
