The red dream flag is a typical bright red fish with a maximum length of about 3 cm or slightly larger. It is a relatively small flag fish. The red fantasy flag is red in color, with transparent muscles. The abdomen is wrapped in reflective material, but it is also covered in red, visually appearing golden. There is an obvious large black spot on the side of the abdomen, the male has a black spot on the dorsal fin, and the female has a white fin tip. Although the red dream flag is an overall red fish, the color varies greatly. Sometimes only the fins are red, and the body is only a light transparent light red, and sometimes there is a strong red all over the body.
