The Red Neon Blue-Eye is an exceptionally slender and delicate blue-eye species. The black spots scattered like pearls on their fins are where their name "Pearl" Blue-eye comes from. In terms of appearance, the male's anterior dorsal fin is relatively narrow with pointed fin rays; the posterior dorsal fin is wide and rounded like a sail, and the anal fin shares a similar shape with the posterior dorsal fin. Finally, a touch of bright yellow at the tip of the pectoral fin adds a bit of spirit to them! In contrast, females completely lack the broad, flowing fins of males, making sex identification very easy.
