Fresh cut water lilies; Fresh cut lotus flowers
When cutting water lilies, first rinse the cut flower stems upside down to allow the loose, spongy stems to fill with water and expel air. Then, place them in water and apply salt to the cut base, or recut them underwater. This facilitates water absorption and prevents blockage of the water-conducting vessels. Additionally, it is best to change the water in the vase every two days to maintain water quality.
The blooming period for lotus flowers is 5 days, typically opening in the morning and slowly closing in the afternoon.
To ensure lotus flowers bloom, remember not to place them in windy locations, such as air-conditioned rooms or near fans. If outdoors, be mindful of wind protection and sun exposure, as strong winds and direct sunlight can cause petals to drop or prevent blooming.
