This species is a classic and ecologically clever lineage within the Lithops genus. Its life cycle is deeply tied to the seasons, entering a state of complete dormancy during the hot summer to withstand severe drought, with metabolism almost entirely halted. When it awakens in spring and autumn, it undergoes molting growth through a unique process of old and new leaf replacement. Its roots are delicate but can penetrate deep into the underground water veins. The special translucent window structure on its leaves filters strong light and directs it to the internal photosynthetic tissues. This lineage has become rare due to habitat fragmentation in the wild.
