Rotala rotundifolia is suitable for dense planting; regular trimming helps maintain a compact form and encourages side shoot development, creating a bushy effect. The key to achieving dense leaves and vibrant colors lies in:

• Sufficient light: Medium to strong light is needed for healthy growth; insufficient light will lead to elongated stems and sparse, small leaves.

• Adding appropriate CO₂ can make the plant bushier and its leaves more vibrant, reducing etiolation.

• Fast growth requires regular topping and trimming; cut off the tops to promote side branching, otherwise, it can grow sparse and messy.

• Requires supplementation with comprehensive liquid fertilizer + iron fertilizer; nutrient deficiency can cause leaves to yellow and growth to stagnate.
