Gynura aurantiaca, commonly known as Purple Passion Plant or Velvet Plant, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the genus Gynura in the family Asteraceae. Its most striking feature is the dense covering of velvety purple hairs on its stems and leaves, which shimmer beautifully under light, hence its name.
