The ancient butterfly fish is a small freshwater fish, belonging to the order Osteoglossus and the family Odontidae. From the appearance, its head is similar to that of an arowana. The unique thing about this fish is that they can fly. Their strong tails allow them to jump out of the water, and their well-developed wing-like pectoral fins allow them to glide over the water, like birds. When encountering predatory insects, they can jump out of the water and glide short distances to pursue them.
