The Colombian Tetra is relatively large. Its initial body color is a bright, deep gray-silver with lustrous, opaque scales. Its fins are transparent or yellow. Once colored up, male Colombian Tetras display a blue-green metallic sheen on their bodies, their fins turn red, and their caudal fin becomes deep red, giving off a shimmering, iridescent glow. Hence, it is also known as the "Red-tailed Phantom Tetra."
Tip: During the acclimation period to a new environment, fading may occur, and the body color may appear dull. The time it takes for the color to recover will be directly affected by environmental conditions.
