Belly bamboo, also known as Buddha Belly Bamboo, Buddha Bamboo, Luohan Bamboo, and Gourd Bamboo, is a clumping bamboo species belonging to the genus Bambusa in the grass family. It is native to southern China, such as Guangdong, and is now cultivated throughout southern China, as well as in Malaysia and the Americas.
