藍彩鳉是鳉科、藍彩鳉屬的淡水魚類，原產於非洲尼日利亞與喀麥隆的溪流、池沼等水域。成魚體長通常為6.5-7.5厘米，體色以藍色為基底，部分品系如「p82」型具有鮮明的紅色斑紋，形成強烈對比。不同地域的種群花紋存在變異，例如背鰭、臀鰭和尾鰭邊緣常鑲嵌黃色或紅色條紋，整體外觀醒目。
飼養建議：
- 水温在 22-25°C；pH值保持在6.0-7.0，建議使用弱酸性軟水以其模擬自然栖息環境
- 可以鋪設水草、沉木等遮蔽物模拟溪流和池沼的环境，為其提供安全感
- 可以投喂干燥颗粒或人工饲料，偶尔可喂红虫等活饵增加营养
- 可混养，但避免与过小的鱼同缸，它們对弱势同类有追赶行为
- 藍彩鱂的跳躍能力較强，魚缸需降低水位或者加蓋防止跳缸
