African Giant Tennis Shrimp (Atya gabonesis)
The African Tennis Shrimp is also called the Blue Tennis Shrimp. The biggest difference from other freshwater shrimps is that it has specialized thorax and feet that are shaped like a round mesh, which can be used to filter plankton and then close the food web to deliver it to the mouth.
The African tennis shrimp can change its body color according to mood, light intensity, and even the background environment. Most of the time, it appears blue-gray or brown, but sometimes it may change to yellow or pink, especially during molting. Afterwards, the color will be very vivid and eye-catching.
Adult size: about 15CM
