The Dyakia apple snail belongs to the family Dyakiidae and is primarily distributed in the tropical jungles of the Lesser Sunda Islands, Sulawesi, and the Moluccas. Species in this genus exhibit a variety of vibrant body colors. The Dyakia apple snail, in particular, is named for its plump, round shape, resembling a vibrant green apple. Some individuals even display a rare sapphire blue coloration. Its shell subtly shimmers under moist light, and its body is charmingly round with graceful, unhurried movements. The Dyakia apple snail is a typical arboreal snail, fond of climbing on tree trunks or the undersides of leaves, especially large-leaved plants like shell ginger or taro, which are common habitats. As a striking new star in the ornamental snail world, the Dyakia apple snail can add a touch of fresh color and unique appeal to rainforest landscapes or ecological tanks. It serves both ornamental and environmental cleaning functions and is suitable for rearing in low-light environments that mimic its natural habitat, using humus soil as a substrate.
