Head-and-taillight tetra
【Adult Size】Around 4 cm
【Water Temperature】Above 20℃
【Food】Flakes, bloodworms, brine shrimp
The head-and-taillight tetra has a laterally compressed body, a blunt, rounded head, and is spindle-shaped. Upon close observation, all of its fins are transparent. The anal fin is relatively long, triangular in the front section, and then shortens towards the back. On each side of the body, there is a beautiful cobalt blue stripe. Of course, the most striking features are the large golden spots near the eyes and at the base of the tail. Below the golden spot at the caudal peduncle is a dark black spot, which makes the golden spot even more prominent. With the refraction of light, a metallic sheen can be observed. When swimming, due to light and viewing angles, the two spots on the head and tail appear and disappear, resembling fireflies in a dense forest in a planted tank, or the headlights and taillights of a car.
