His bonsai hobby led him to create small pots. In 1979, he and six friends built a shared kiln, naming it Rokuraku Kiln. He might be better known by his pottery name, Rokuraku Kiln. In 1985, he received the Chairman's Award at the National Amateur Small Pot Artists Exhibition, the Special Encouragement Award at the 2nd BONSAI Container Exhibition, and the Encouragement Award at the 1st Contemporary Small Pot Artists Exhibition. Although he produced little due to his busy schedule, he has been actively engaged in pottery since returning to his hometown.
