The Tor hengei, a small ornamental fish belonging to the genus Tor, is primarily distributed in the large river basins of Southeast and South Asia, such as the Mekong and Red Rivers. Adult fish typically reach a length of about 40 cm, with their bodies covered in greenish or bluish-gold scales. Some individuals exhibit a jewel-like green sheen. While juveniles are active swimmers, adults prefer to inhabit deep areas with slow-moving currents. They have an extremely slow growth rate, averaging only 8 cm per year, and their maximum length does not exceed 40 cm, making them the smallest Tor fish discovered to date.

  • Water temperature should be stable at 24-28℃
  • The tank needs substrate and aquatic plants to simulate its natural environment
  • Feed primarily live small fish and shrimp, supplemented with artificial feed
  • Oxygenation equipment is necessary to maintain sufficient dissolved oxygen in the water

(Friendly reminder: Better coloration is influenced by the fish's size, surrounding environment, tank size, water quality, lighting, daily care, feed, etc. Maintain a stable environment, wait patiently, and the Tor fish will eventually color up.)
