His father, Yozan, was a bonsai pot craftsman and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. Eimei's products are primarily small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50 cm. Round pots are generally made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai containers are made using molds. The molded pots are thickly cast and then re-carved by hand. He produces a wide range of items, including pots with cat feet, painted designs, and unglazed "mud-colored" pots, with some being close to one-of-a-kind creations and others mass-produced.
