Shuho: The fourth generation of Kataoka Toen, founded in 1923 (Taisho 12), Kataoka Shin changed the name to Yoshimura Toen in 1973 (Showa 48). The following year, 1974 (Showa 49), he inherited the name Shuho. His pottery techniques are diverse, including coil building and press molding, and his work is characterized by elegant forms with a subtle, appealing texture. He also specializes in glazed pottery, and his skillful use of glazes shows his unique ingenuity.
