[Used] Bonsai Pot, Heian Kosen, Medium size, Approx. 26.3cm long, Round pot, Riveted, Clay pot, Current item, Used pot Heian Kosen, Born February 28, 1933. Started bonsai around 1955. Fascinated by Tofukuji pots, he began making pots entirely self-taught around 1965. He insisted on firing in a climbing kiln, and as kilns were progressively abandoned, he eventually got to use Kanjiro Kawai's climbing kiln. He spent two years trying to reproduce the nashi-gawa-dei (pear skin clay) of Tofukuji, and for glazes such as jun-yu, oribe, cinnabar, and soba, he was not satisfied with ready-made glazes and attempted his own unique innovations.
