Shibakatsu-en kiln opened in 1977. Previously, press molding was the main method, but in recent years, they have shifted to mainly handmade pieces using slab construction and press molds. They produce a wide range of pots, from Tokoname Shudei (vermilion clay) and Tokoname Shidei Nezumi-dei (purple clay mouse gray) to glazed pots, with rich variations in color and form.
