The Black-Gold Turkish ant prefers dry conditions, has good adaptability and reproductive capacity, and is omnivorous. Worker ants show distinct three-stage polymorphism: major, media, and minor workers. All are yellow, with major workers having a black and wider head, well-developed mandibles, and yellow and black stripes on their abdomens.For new Black-Gold Turkish queens, the time from egg to worker ant is about 40-50 days in summer, with an ideal temperature of around 22-30°C. Although Black-Gold Turkish ants originate from the deserts of Xinjiang, China, if the temperature exceeds 32°C (in a non-ventilated environment), the rate of worker emergence will slow down, or worker ants may die. Therefore, it is recommended to prioritize ventilation. Newly emerged worker ants are pale yellow, similar in appearance to fully yellow Turkish ants, and slightly transparent.
