Lentipes armatus

The habitat environment of the blue-bellied goby is a whirlpool with rapid water flow or a small depression with a drop. The substrate is a rock bed or a pile of small gravels. It has good swimming ability, well-developed suction cups and strong adsorption capacity, so it has the ability to go upstream in sections of streams with large drops, and even waterfalls are not a problem for this fish. It is omnivorous and partial to algae, mainly scraping algae, and also feeds on aquatic insects. It is quite territorial and mostly moves alone. This fish will hide in stone crevices when frightened, and will also build burrows. If it chases an intruder, it will raise its tail and change color.
