Sailan Liujian is native to Lake Tanganyika in Africa. The body color is blue and deep black, and the white part is also blue. The most striking feature compared with ordinary Rokujian is that the head has triangular patterns instead of black vertical patterns. It has a gentle temperament and moves slowly and gracefully. Because of its large size and carnivorous nature, it is not suitable for polyculture of small fish.
