Bonsai Pot: Tani Ranzan, mame pot, approx. 4.5cm long, rectangular pot, rimmed, current item, used pot. Real name: Hiroyuki Tani. His hobby of bonsai blossomed into the creation of small pots. In 1979, he and six friends built a communal kiln and named it Rokuraku Kiln. His potter's name "Rokuraku Kiln" might be more widely recognized. In 1985, he received the Chairman's Award at the National Amateur Small Pot Artists Exhibition, the Special Encouragement Award at the 2nd BONSAI Container Exhibition, and the Encouragement Award at the 1st Contemporary Small Pot Artists Exhibition. Due to a busy schedule, his output was limited, but since returning to his hometown, he has been actively engaged in pottery production.
