His father, Yozan, was a bonsai pot craftsman and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products are mainly small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50 cm. Round pots are generally made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai pots are made using molds. The molded pots are made with thick molds and then re-carved by hand. He creates a wide variety of pieces, including cat-leg feet, painted designs, and earthy-colored pots, ranging from unique, one-off productions to mass-produced items.
