His father, Yozan, was a potter of bonsai containers and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products mainly consist of small and medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm. Round pots are generally made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai containers are made using molds. The molded items are cast thickly and then reshaped by hand. He creates a wide range of items, including pots with cat's feet, painted designs, and earthy colors, with some being close to one-off productions and others mass-produced.
