Fourth generation of the Tankyo kiln. Started making sometsuke pots around 1969. At various exhibitions, he has received numerous awards including the Best Artist Award, Juseki-sha Award, and Kindai Publishing Award, for his elegant brushwork in sometsuke, aka-e, and iro-e. His paintings are heavily influenced by Yūsen, transitioning from an early detailed style to a more simplified style with thicker lines.
