His father, Youzan, was a bonsai pot craftsman and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products mainly consist of small to medium-sized glazed items, up to about 50cm in size. Round pots are typically made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai pots are made using a mold. He makes the molds thick and then re-carves them himself. His works are diverse, including cat-leg styles, painted designs, and earthy-colored pots, ranging from unique, one-of-a-kind pieces to mass-produced items.
