Bonsai pot, Tokoname, Yozan Kiln, Hideaki. Small, approx. 9.8cm long. Round pot, glazed. Current item, new. Real name: Hideaki Shimizu. His father, Yozan, was a bonsai pot craftsman and one of Tokoname's foremost glaze masters. His products mainly consist of small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm. Round pots are basically made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai pots are made using molds. The molded pots are initially thick and then shaved down by Hideaki himself. He produces a wide range of items, including pots with cat-leg feet, painted pots, and "dei-iro" (mud-colored) pots, with some being closer to one-of-a-kind pieces and others being mass-produced.
