His hobby of bonsai led him to create small pots. In 1979, he and six friends built a communal kiln and named it Rokuraku Kiln. His potter's name, Rokuraku Kiln, might be more widely known. In 1985, he received the Chairman's Award at the National Amateur Small Pot Artists Exhibition, the Special Encouragement Award at the 2nd BONSAI Container Exhibition, and the Encouragement Award at the 1st Contemporary Small Pot Artists Exhibition. He produced few works due to his busy schedule, but he has been actively engaged in pottery since returning to his hometown.
