Real name: Kazuhiro Watanabe. He trained under his father, Shōzan Watanabe, while researching glazes, and began firing small bonsai pots around 1978. He primarily creates slab-built glazed bonsai pots and glazed suiban (water basins). His glazes include Oribe, Junyu, white Cochin, yellow Cochin, and lapis lazuli, with a wide variety of intermediate colors as well. He is a Tokoname-based bonsai pot artist who creates unglazed, small, and large bonsai containers, including both pots and suiban. Although his artist name is pronounced "Kazuhiro," it is commonly read using the kun'yomi pronunciation "Ikko."
