Bonsai Pot - Ichikou Made by Kazuhiro Watanabe - Small, approx. 11.5cm long, rectangular pot, angled corners, cloud feet, rectangular, unglazed, current stock, new. Real name: Kazuhiro Watanabe. While training under his father, Shōzan Watanabe, he researched glazes and began firing small bonsai pots around 1978. He mainly uses slab construction for glazed bonsai pots and glazed suiban (water basins). His glazes are primarily Oribe, Jun-yu, White Kōchi, Yellow Kōchi, and Ruri-yu, with a diverse range of intermediate colors. He is a Tokoname bonsai artist who creates both unglazed and glazed pots and suiban, for small and large bonsai. The artist's name is read as "Kazuhiro," but it is generally read in its kun'yomi (Japanese reading) as "Ichikou."
